Catch of the Day

This osprey was perched on a fallen log on Talbot Island.  It didn't move as I got closer so I continued my approach.  Suddenly, it lifted off the log carrying this huge fish (I had not noticed the fish) to finish its lunch in peace.  It flew low to the ground as I assumed it struggled with the size and weight of this catch.  I've often seen osprey with fish but never one this big!  I was thrilled to get a clear shot as he flew away from me.

This photo is unframed and printed on canvas.  It measures 20 by 30".
