"Donax Stew for Lunch” by Barbara Hopkins is an 18”x 24” palette knife acrylic ready to hang float-mount-framed canvas.

Harking back to when grandmother kept the grandkids engaged on lazy summer mornings by challenging them to dig the elusive donax (an edible saltwater clam also called coquina) that would ultimately become lunch, a stew much like oyster stew. Painting memories that strike a cord with the viewer is an underlying purpose of many figurative works by Hopkins.
