Mother's Blessing - Orange Daylily

Mounted on Gallery Canvas. This bloom was grown in ancient Asia to honor a mother’s blessing. Daylily blooms last for a day, now and this bloom will be captured in time. Daylilies have been a staple in my gardens in Maine and in Florida. They make me think of home, a light breeze and blooms dancing in sunlight. This silk painting started with white Habotai silk from Thailand, a light design was penciled in and then it was painted with French Dyes. The painted silk was then steam set for 2 hours and then mounted to canvas using an archival quality clear sealer.
