Here’s Looking at You: This is our beloved Green Sea Turtle of our Amelia Island Coast. I believe she is looking very hopeful toward her destination. They are endangered and very precious to me. This is the Sea Turtle of my childhood, from Hilton Head Island in the 1980’s to Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island, Amelia Island, going south to Jacksonville, in the late 60s and 70s, where my grandparents lived and my mom grew up. I just love layering, color after color imagining each color tells a story of where she has been in her life.
The frame is a handmade Custom Pine Float Frame by my husband and artist, Alex. Original acrylic and ink painting on canvas by artist Noelle Almond. This work of art measures 19.25" x 25.25" and is wired for hanging.
